How is the journal selection process for indexing in the LILACS database carried out?

The journal selection process is decentralized and conducted by National Selection Committees formed by the Coordinators in each country or LILACS thematic area.

The criteria for the evaluation and selection of journals for indexing in the LILACS database are applied in all Latin American and Caribbean countries. When a national or thematic coordination adapts these criteria to the scientific scenario of their country and they are validated by BIREME/PAHO/WHO, those criteria are adopted in the evaluation process.
