2. DATA ELEMENT DEFINITION:

Name of the institution responsible for the intellectual content of a document.

3. NOTE:

a) If there are multiple responsible institutions, their names should be recorded in the sequence given in the document.

b) Filling in one of the data fields, Personal Author or Institutional Author, is mandatory.

c) If there is a personal author and an institutional author, all authors should be recorded.

d) It is not recommended to register documents without authorship.

e) Record the name of the institution, primarily in the identical form as it appears in the document, adding, when necessary, the name of the institution hierarchically superior. Some basic rules for standardizing the name of institutional authors, based on AACR2, are available in ANNEX II.

Degree of Responsibility:

f) Indicate the degree of responsibility when it is not the author.
