2. DATA ELEMENT DEFINITION:

Sequential number or expression that identifies each part of a series within a collection or volume.

3. NOTES:

a) Record the issue number in Arabic numerals;

b) If there are additional information such as: special issue, commemorative issue, or supplement, they should be recorded after the issue number, if applicable, separated by a comma;

c) If the issue has subdivisions, record them after a comma;

d) If the issue consists of more than one number, record the corresponding digit for the first and the corresponding one for the last, separated by a slash (/).
