Description of physical details of the document itself, illustrative material accompanying the document (graphics, maps, tables, and illustrations), and other descriptive information.

3. NOTES:

a) Record the abbreviation of one or more types of descriptive information in attribute b: Other physical details;

b) The meanings of the abbreviations are:

Attributes Description
a: Item extent – quantity, specific designation of the material (material name), total time of the described item.

Note: Data regarding VOLUME should be inserted in fields 20 (monographic level pages) or 21 (volume) or 27 (total number of volumes) or 31 (volume – series level), and data regarding pages should be inserted in fields 14 (analytical level pages) or 20 (monographic level pages), according to the type of document.

b: Other physical details – Examples: VHS, color, etc.
c: Dimensions – expressed in centimeters, millimeters, inches
e: Accompanying material – may include physical description of accompanying material.
