2. DEFINITION OF DATA ELEMENT:
Identification code of the institution responsible for creating a bibliographic record.
3. NOTES:
a) The institution code consists of the ISO country code followed by a number that identifies it.
b) National Coordinating Institutions of LILACS must submit complete address data of the Cooperating Centers of the country to BIREME, so they can be registered and receive a code.
c) All LILACS Cooperating Centers will receive a code that identifies them from BIREME.
d) To identify the institution represented by the code, access the BVS network directory.
