2. DATA ELEMENT DEFINITION:

Title of the document in the language and form in which it appears, and title in another language in the case of multilingual publications.

3. NOTES:

a) Record the title in lowercase, following the spelling rules of the corresponding language;

b) Always record in full form, including subtitle if separated from the title by a colon;

c) If there are more than one title, record them in the sequence given in the document. Only titles that have corresponding text in the same language should be represented in this field.

d) Select the language according to ISO 639:1988 standard, in the attribute i:. If it’s not possible to identify the language, select Indeterminate.

e) The languages permitted for LILACS are those presented in ANNEX IV.
