1. DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA FIELD:

2. DEFINITION OF DATA ELEMENT:

Note containing the titles of separate works or parts of an item.

 

3. NOTES:

a) The content note usually contains the titles of separate works or parts of an item and may also include indication of responsibility associated with the work or parts;

b) Volume numbers and other sequential indications are also included in content notes, but chapter numbers are omitted;

c) For some materials, the data may generally be included in other notes or areas of description (e.g., number of pages, pieces, frames in each part);

d) For mixed materials and material under archival control, this field may contain an index;

e) Unformatted content notes are recorded in the General Note field;

f) Follow AACR2 rule 1.7B18 and its variants for each type of document treated.
